5 Easy To Care For Indoor Plants
Updated: Sep 17, 2020
Indoor plants are a must in any style home. They can add a natural touch of color, fill an awkward empty space, and purify the air. Some studies have even shown that having indoor house plants can help reduce stress and help you sleep.
HOWEVER - what do you do when you have absolutely no interest in gardening?
That's me! I do not have a green thumb or the time to take care of plants. Here are my top 5 picks of super easy to care for indoor plants and how I maintain them.
1. Orchids

Orchids are very easy to keep. You can put them almost anywhere: on a floating shelf, a desk, wherever you need a little pop! They need very little natural light, so I usually keep them in the bathrooms. I water them once a week while cleaning up - it's just part of the routine now. Mine bloom every year for about 2 - 3 months.
Pro Tip: I also spray Orchid Food once a month.

2. A Succulent Garden

Succulents are incredibly easy to manage. They need very little water and grow fantastic in sunny/indirect light. I keep my succulents on my coffee table. Once a month, I water them with some of the water I already have handy in my water bottle! This particular one on Amazon comes planted in a very cute container.
3. Aloe

Aloe is a plant that keeps on giving. It looks great on shelves, in the kitchen, or on a desk. It's great to have handy to soothe any skin irritation (including minor burns). Just cut a piece off and use the gel inside. This one comes with the pot! Find a sunny spot and water once a month(ish).
4. Snake Plant

Don't let the name scare you. The Snake Plant needs very little water and zero maintenance. They grow well inside and outside. I would recommend watering once every other week and to make sure the soil is completely dry between waterings. Costa Farms on Amazon sells these plants including the pot!
5. Monstera

Monstera is a very popular house plant. Keep it in indirect sunlight (too much sun can burn the leaves). It needs watering about once a week - again, the extra water from your water bottle is plenty! I personally love this plant because you can cut a couple of the leaves and put them in a tall, glass vase. It's the plant that gives you free plants for other places in your house!
